After 23 yr's at our former place in suburbia, the dream of living in the country has become reality! We packed up our urban selves and are settling in to enjoy "life, part two". We bought our country home on two acres, which, as fate would have it, was just 100 ft from our wooded seven acres!
We live on a dirt road (love it!) with only two other unseen neighbors with large tracts of land all around us. Surrounded by woods, the house sits on a treed acre in front with a small seasonal creek; the acre in back is a sunny field and a small pasture, with a chicken/animal pen. There is also a large shop with attached pole barn, a small "feed" shed, a 20 x 20 shed, and a solidly built playhouse for the young'uns. We are blessed.
We bought the house in December 2009, and began renovations and repairs in February 2010, finishing and moving in four months later, the end of June.
My mind stays active with thoughts of so many possibilities, and my heart stays happy knowing I'm home!
